Excerpt from the liner notes: The 24 tracks of material herein were established to analog tape nearly eight years ago, eluding the underground until now—this body of work is the product of four years in the echo park (john muir E. P. ) & claremont (headquarters at OLIVE ST.) STUDIOS. Half of these 24 examples of technological sound investigation were originally offered to the closed mind of rrr records by then line-up barnes, nelson & wood for a “pure” series mitbn release. They were rejected by rrr with A pure-horse$%&* critique: “sorry, this material is not harsh enough”. A phobia of material contrary to the “japanese sound” WAS not something that afflicted MITBN, on the contrary: aesthetics & innovation are what fueled these compositions. To RRronALD we wont apologize for not being from japan, or for not pretending to be. these tracks are now offered directly to the UNDERGROUND THROUGH THIS SELF RELEASE—creating them kept this unit alive. 1st edition limited to 500 pieces. Double cd release of 118+ minutes. Each set has color combinations that are one of a kind... three different fold-out double-sided hand-inked sleeves, two cotton-like gauze & plastic cd protectors and a two sided offset insert with liner notes all packaged within a heavy-duty archival clear plastic sleeves reminiscent of an LP in but miniature.
